Accommodation supplement

This is a fixed value or percentage and is charged per room from a base or related room type. These supplements tend to be stable across all periods.


An abbreviation of All Inclusive. A meal plan whereby all meals, typically breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are included in the accommodation rate.

Business to Consumer (B2C), refers to a situation where one business sells hotel inventory directly to the customer for a commission. For example, Priceline or or Expedia.


Best Available Rate (BAR), also known as Best Rate Guarantee (BRG), is one of the latest pricing mechanism, increasingly used by hotels and hotel chains around the world. It was introduced because of the hotel industry mimicking the airline industry, which sets price by forecasting demand.
